Mariposa is our guest dog of the Month. Here is Robin, the rescuer’s story about Mariposa.
“Mariposa was rescued from the streets of Costa Rica by Lya Battle from Territorio de Zaguates When I met Mari at Territorio de Zaguates, I was charmed by her personality and affection. It was clear Mariposa needed some individualized medical help so I sponsored her trip to the veterinarian. In March, Mari received a clean bill of health and was flown here to join her foster family where she lives with her 3 brothers. We named her Mariposa (Spanish for butterfly) because she became a beautiful dog both inside and outside!
Mariposa was rescued from the streets of Costa Rica by Lya Battle from Territorio de Zaguates Mari is quite the domesticated dog, she loves soft blankets, balls, chew toys and going on walks. Mari is potty trained. She is very good when walking on leash, however if she sees a squirrel or wild turkey, hold on tight! Although, she starting to prefer treats over the squirrels. 😊
Mari is not fond of cats, she puts them in the same category as “squirrels”. Mari likes to be the queen of the pack. As long as the other dogs in the house are submissive and don’t mind Mari stealing their toy, they should get along fine. Mari currently lives with a German Shepherd, lab mix and Schauzer mix.”
